An ever increasing number of remote devices and mobile workers changes the paradigm of “identity management”. No longer do we have the safety blanket of domain joined devices, a user’s identity is often the only thing we have to make trust decisions on. This is forcing a change of thinking about what is a user’s identity, it is now truly much larger than their “account”.
The focus is now on initiatives such as streamlining registration via social logins, low barrier entry and device friendly authentication. Identity professionals are stepping up to meet these challenges.
